P0657 - Actuator Supply Voltage Circuit / Open

DESCRIPTION

The ECM monitors the output voltage to the throttle actuator. This self-check ensures that the ECM is functioning properly. The output voltage usually is 0 V when the engine switch is turned off. If the output voltage is higher than 7 V when the engine switch is turned off, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and store DTC when the engine switch is turned on (IG).

CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN





1. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.

2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.

3. Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC operation).

4. Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.

5. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on [A].

6. Wait 5 seconds or more.

7. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes [B].

8. Read the DTCs.

HINT
- If a DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
- If a DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.

9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / All Readiness.

10. Input the DTC: P0657.

11. Check the DTC judgment result.





HINT
If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.

12. If the test result is INCOMPLETE or UNKNOWN and no pending DTC is output, perform a universal trip and check for permanent DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

HINT
- If a permanent DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
- If no permanent DTC is output, the system is normal.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC

(a) Clear DTC DTC Check / Clear.

(b) Turn the engine switch off.

(c) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait for 1 minute.

(d) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

(e) Turn the engine switch on (IG) for 10 seconds.

(f) Turn the engine switch off.

(g) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(h) Check DTC.

OK:

P0657 is not output.
