DTC B1215 - Short to GND in Door System Communication Bus Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
If a +B short circuit or body ground short circuit is detected on the door system communication bus (BEAN), BEAN is disabled and a DTC is output.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC (MAIN BODY ECU RH)
(a) Disconnect the J75 and RJ connector.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
NG -- CHECK FOR DTC (FRONT CONTROLLER (ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK NO. 2))
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK FOR DTC (MULTIPLEX NETWORK SWITCH (FRONT RH))
(a) Reconnect the J75 and RJ connectors.
(b) Disconnect the L13 connector.
(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU RH - MULTIPLEX NETWORK SWITCH (FRONT RH))
(a) Disconnect the J75 connector.
(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU RH - MULTIPLEX NETWORK SWITCH (FRONT RH))
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK FOR DTC (MULTIPLEX NETWORK SWITCH (REAR LH))
(a) Reconnect the J75 and L13 connectors.
(b) Disconnect the O1 connector.
(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.

(a) Disconnect the J75 connectors.
(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Reconnect the J75 and O1 connectors.
(b) Disconnect the N1 connector.
(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.

(a) Reconnect the N1 connector.
(b) Disconnect the P1 connector.
(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.

(a) Reconnect the P1 connector.
(b) Disconnect the J28 connector.
(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.

(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.

(b) Disconnect the 2F connector.
(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.

(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
