DTC B1266 - Short to B+ in Instrument Panel System Communication Bus Malfunction

DTC B1267 - Short to GND in Instrument Panel System Communication Bus Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

If a +B short circuit or body ground short circuit is detected on the instrument panel system communication bus (BEAN), the instrument panel system communication bus (BEAN) is disabled and a DTC code is output.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC (COMBINATION METER)





(a) Disconnect the J34 connector.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Clear the DTC.
(d) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1266 and B1267 are not output.
NG -- CHECK FOR DTC (A/C AMPLIFIER)
OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER
2. CHECK FOR DTC (A/C AMPLIFIER)





(a) Reconnect the J34 connector.
(b) Disconnect the J58 connector.
(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1266 and B1267 are not output.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS, CONNECTOR AND EACH ECU
OK -- REPLACE A/C AMPLIFIER
3. CHECK HARNESS, CONNECTOR AND EACH ECU





(a) Disconnect the J34 connector.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Clear the DTC.
(d) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1266 and B1267 are not output.
NG -- CHECK FOR DTC (TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER)
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK FOR DTC (AFS ECU)





(a) Reconnect the J34 and J58 connectors.
(b) Disconnect the A27 connector.
(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1266 and B1267 are not output.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - A/C AMPLIFIER)
OK -- REPLACE AFS ECU
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - A/C AMPLIFIER)





(a) Disconnect the J58 connector.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Clear the DTC.
(d) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1266 and B1267 are not output.
(e) Proceed to next step based on the inspection result.

B -- CHECK FOR DTC (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU)
A -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - A/C AMPLIFIER)
6. CHECK FOR DTC (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU)
(a) Reconnect the A27 and J58 connectors.





(b) Disconnect the Q37 connector.
(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1266 and B1267 are not output.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE CLEARANCE WARNING ECU
7. CHECK FOR DTC (TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER)





(a) Reconnect the J34 and J58 connectors.
(b) Disconnect the J49 connector.
(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1266 and B1267 are not output.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER)
OK -- REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER
8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER)





(a) Disconnect J34 connector.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Clear the DTC.
(d) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1266 and B1267 are not output.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER - GATEWAY ECU)
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER)
9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER - GATEWAY ECU)





(a) Disconnect the J76 connector.
(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:






Standard Resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER - GATEWAY ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.
10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (A/C AMPLIFIER - GATEWAY ECU)





(a) Reconnect the J49 connector.
(b) Disconnect the J58 connector.
(c) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (A/C AMPLIFIER - GATEWAY ECU)
OK -- REPLACE GATEWAY ECU
