Remote Up / Down Function Does Not Operate
WINDOW / GLASS: POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM: Remote Up / Down Function does not Operate
Remote Up / Down Function does not Operate
DESCRIPTION
When the engine switch is on (IG) and the window lock switch is OFF, the multiplex network master switch assembly sends remote up/down signal to each multiplex network switch assembly via the multiplex communication line.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
- When the multiplex network master switch assembly connector or multiplex network switch assembly (applicable location) connector is disconnected, the power window control system must be initialized Initialization.
- Since the power window control system has functions that use multiplex communication (BEAN), first confirm that there is no malfunction in the multiplex communication system by inspecting the multiplex communication functions in accordance with the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure How To Proceed With Troubleshooting. Then, conduct the following inspection procedure.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM (WINDOW LOCK SWITCH)
(a) Check that the multiplex network switch assemblies (front passenger, rear LH and rear RH side) are disabled when the window lock switch of the multiplex network master switch assembly is pressed.
OK:
Multiplex network switch assemblies (front passenger, rear LH and rear RH side) are disabled.
(b) Check that the multiplex network switch assemblies (front passenger, rear LH and rear RH side) operate when the window lock switch is pressed again.
OK:
Multiplex network switch assemblies (front passenger, rear LH and rear RH side) can be operated.
NG -- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MASTER SWITCH)
OK -- END
2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MASTER SWITCH)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG)
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Master Switch / Data List.
(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
Master Switch (Multiplex Network Master Switch Assembly)
OK:
The Techstream display changes in accordance with multiplex network master switch assembly operation.
NG -- REPLACE MULTIPLE NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM (REMOTE UP/DOWN FUNCTION (EACH DOORS))
(a) Check that the each door remote UP/DOWN function operates Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
Result:
C -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU RH - SWITCH (for Rear RH Side))
B -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU RH - SWITCH (for Rear LH Side))
A -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU RH - SWITCH (for Front Passenger Side))
D -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)
(a) Check the DTC Multiplex Communication System.
OK:
No DTC B1206 is output.
NG -- GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (DTC 1206)
OK -- REPLACE MULTIPLE NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU RH - SWITCH (for Front Passenger Side))
(a) Disconnect the main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH).
(b) Disconnect the multiplex network switch assembly (for front passenger side).
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side)
(a) Replace the multiplex network switch assembly (for front passenger side) Removal.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM (for Front Passenger Side))
(a) Initialize the power window control system (for front passenger side) Initialization.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
8. CHECK POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE REMOTE UP/DOWN FUNCTION)
(a) Check that the front passenger side remote UP/DOWN function operates normally Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
OK:
Front passenger side remote UP/DOWN function operates normally.
NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH)
OK -- END (MULTIPLEX NETWORK SWITCH ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE)
9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU RH - SWITCH (for Rear LH Side))
(a) Disconnect the main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH).
(b) Disconnect the multiplex network switch assembly (for rear LH side).
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
10. REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for Rear LH Side)
(a) Replace the multiplex network switch assembly (for rear LH side) Removal.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM (for Rear LH Side))
(a) Initialize the power window control system (for rear LH side) Initialization.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
12. CHECK POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM (REAR LH SIDE REMOTE UP/DOWN FUNCTION)
(a) Check that the rear LH side remote UP/DOWN function operates normally Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
OK:
Rear LH side remote UP/DOWN function operates normally.
NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH)
OK -- END (MULTIPLEX NETWORK SWITCH ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE)
13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU RH - SWITCH (for Rear RH Side))
(a) Disconnect the main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH).
(b) Disconnect the multiplex network switch assembly (for rear RH side).
