INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE: First perform the communication function inspections in HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING to confirm that there are no CAN communication malfunctions before troubleshooting this symptom.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (BACK-UP LIGHT)
(a) Using the intelligent tester or Techstream, perform the Active Test.
(1) Intelligent tester

(2) Techstream

Body No. 4





OK:
Back-up light condition is switched by Active Test.
NG -- CHECK REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU (BCK1 VOLTAGE)
OK -- GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM
2. CHECK REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU (BCK1 VOLTAGE)





(a) Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:





NOTE: Do not start the engine or hybrid control system.

NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the S33 and S41 light connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY
