DESCRIPTION
The front light ECU receives washer fluid level warning switch information, and sends it through multiplex communication line to the combination meter. The combination meter receives this information, and turns on the washer fluid level warning switch when the washer fluid becomes low.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
(c) Select the item below in the Data List, and read the display on the Techstream.
Body No. 5 (Front controller):
OK:
The display is as specified in the normal condition.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH
(a) Disconnect the A4 switch connector.
(b) Measure the resistance of the connector.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the 1X ECU connector.
(b) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard resistance:
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
NG -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SWITCH - ECU AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the A4 switch connector.
(b) Disconnect the 1X ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
