Removal





INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

Service Precautions

NOTICE:

w/ Navigation System for HDD:

After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.





5. REMOVE UPPER NO. 1 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the claw as shown in the illustration.





(b) Pull the upper No. 1 console panel garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 2 clips and remove the upper No. 1 console panel garnish.





6. REMOVE UPPER NO. 2 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the claw as shown in the illustration.





(b) Pull the upper No. 2 console panel garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 2 clips and remove the upper No. 2 console panel garnish.





7. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Hold the front of the console panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration and disengage the 8 clips by pulling the console panel sub-assembly in the direction shown by the arrow.





NOTICE:
Do not use any tools to disengage the clips. The use of tools may result in damage to the console panel sub-assembly.

(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the console panel sub-assembly.

8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX ASSEMBLY (w/o Ashtray)

(a) Remove the 2 screws [E].





(b) Pull the instrument panel box assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow and disconnect the connectors to remove the instrument panel box assembly.





9. REMOVE FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Ashtray)

(a) Remove the 2 screws [E].





(b) Pull the front ash receptacle box sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow and disconnect the connectors to remove the front ash receptacle box sub-assembly.





10. REMOVE REAR ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY (w/ Ashtray) Removal

11. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY (w/o Ashtray) Removal

12. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY (w/ Ashtray) Removal

13. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX Removal

14. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Apply protective tape to the areas shown in the illustration.





(c) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws starting from the left of the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly as shown in the illustration. Disengage the remaining 3 claws by pulling the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly by hand.





NOTICE:
Do not pry the lower part of the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly. Doing so may damage the assembly.

(d) Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly.





15. REMOVE CENTER LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL

(a) Disengage the 4 claws to remove the center lower instrument cluster finish panel.





16. REMOVE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY WITH RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Multi-display) Removal

17. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL PANEL WITH RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/o Multi-display) Removal

18. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal

19. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal

20. REMOVE STEERING PAD Removal

21. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Removal

22. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER Removal

23. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal

25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Removal

26. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips to remove the side instrument panel LH as shown in the illustration.





27. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 screws [D].





(b) Push the 2 claws in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage them.

(c) Remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly from the guide as shown in the illustration and pull the cover toward the rear of the vehicle.

(d) Disconnect the connectors and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

28. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 7 clips.





(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.

29. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal

30. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 screws [F] and 2 clips, and then remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.





31. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the combination meter assembly.

32. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the LH side Removal.

33. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the LH side Removal.

34. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL RH

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips to remove the side instrument panel RH as shown in the illustration.





35. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips as shown in the illustration and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.





36. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal

37. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 5 screws [D].





(b) Disengage the 2 claws.

(c) Disconnect the connectors and remove the glove compartment door assembly.

38. REMOVE POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU

(a) Remove the bolt and 2 nuts.





(b) Disconnect the connector to remove the power source control ECU.

39. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH Removal

40. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

Use the same procedure as for the LH side Removal.

41. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Pull the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 7 claws and 2 clips, and then disconnect the connector and remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.





42. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Pull the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 4 claws and 2 clips, and then disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly.





43. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 7 claws and 2 clips, and remove the No. 3 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

44. REMOVE FRONT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Center Speaker) Removal

45. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT

(a) Remove the 2 clips and No. 2 console box duct.





46. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT

(a) Remove the clip and No. 1 console box duct.





47. DISCONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE Removal

48. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage each clamp.

(b) Disconnect each connector.

(c) Disengage the 2 claws and separate the cooler thermistor.





(d) Remove the 6 bolts [C] and nut [G].

(e) Remove the 2 passenger airbag bolts [A] or [B].

(f) Disengage the 2 clamps.

(g) Disengage the 5 claws and remove the instrument panel safety pad assembly.





49. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLIP

(a) Disengage the 4 claws to remove the 4 instrument panel clips.





50. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY

(a) Disengage the claw to remove the instrument panel stay.
