Removal and Installation

1. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding.

2. NOTE: During installation, hand-tighten the 2 coolant outlet adapter bolts prior to final tightening to make sure the coolant outlet adapter is seated evenly.

Remove the 2 bolts and position aside the coolant outlet adapter and hose.

- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

3. Remove the O-ring seal and the coolant thermostat from the intake manifold.
- Discard the O-ring seal.

- Clean all sealing surfaces with metal surface prep.

4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

5. Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding.
