Valve Clearance Test (DE-02.03)

Tightening Torques:

Note:
Check valve clearance with engine cold or warm.
Replace any damaged cap or lock nuts.
Observe location of intake and exhaust valves.





Caution: Do not interchange vacuum lines. The connectors and vacuum lines are color coded.

The engine can be cranked as follows:




a) With socket wrench and ratchet on hex bolt that attaches balancing disk to crankshaft.

Important:
Do not crank engine on fastening bolt of a camshaft sprocket.
Do not rotate crankshaft in reverse.

b) With starter and remote starter switch.




Model 116.120.
Connect remote starter switch on cable connector below the battery to terminal 50 and (+) on battery.




Model 123 with engine 617.952 (turbo diesel)
Connect remote starter switch to terminal 30 and 50 at cable connector.
The cable connector is located on the right hand wheel housing.




Model 126 with engine 817.951 (turbo diesel)
Connect remote starter switch to terminal 30 and 50 at cable connector.
The cable connector is located on the right hand side member
