Expansion Valve: Service and Repair

NOTE: If the suction pressure is not attained in the test of the cooling capacity, the expansion valve must be renewed. The expansion valve should also be renewed if it is severely soiled or if the passage from c to a is blocked.


Removing
1 Drain air conditioning system.
2 Remove cover on air inlet Procedures







3 Unscrew screw or hexagon nut (arrow) and pull lines out of expansion valve.







4 Unscrew both screws (arrows) and remove expansion valve (35).
5 Seal off connections with plugs.


Installing
6 Install in the reverse sequence; check the O-rings on the evaporator pipes and on the pipe lines and lightly coat with cold-flowing oil.
7 Renew receiver dehydrator and, if necessary, switches S31 and S32 (Cycling Pressure Switch and Condenser Fan Switch)
8 Evacuate air conditioning system and refill; check function and check for leaks Testing and Inspection
