Drive Belt: Service and Repair

Serpentine Belt:

SERPENTINE BELT (POLY V-BELT)

Fan Cover:

REMOVAL
1. Remove the locking pin (1) and turn the ring (2) to the left.
2. Remove the ring by turning the fan.
3. Loosen bolt (16) approx. 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

Belt Tensioner:

4. Loosen tensioning device at nut (5) by turning nut to the left until the serpentine (poly V-belt) belt can be removed.
5. Remove the serpentine belt.

Serpentine Belt (Poly V-Belt) Routing:

INSTALLATION
1. Install new serpentine belt in numerical order of diagram.

Tensioner Marking:

2. Turn the pointer of the tensioning device to the marking (1).

Belt Tensioner:

3. Turn tensioning nut (5) to the right until the pointer (13) is aligned with the marking (2, arrow).
4. Tighten bolt (16) to:

70 Nm (52 ft. lb.)

5. Examine seat of belt on the belt pulleys.
6. Install fan cover.
