Cruise Control: Adjustments
A. General Notes:In order to ensure correct functioning of the cruise control and correct adjustment of the connecting rod, always observe the following points:
- Check for ease of movement and wear in the throttle control.
- Replace worn parts of the throttle control.
- Clean throttle control parts if they are dirty and difficult to move.
- Use an oil can to lubricate all the bearings of the throttle control and throttle control cable.
- On USA version vehicles, only the following hydraulic fluids may be used:
- Castrol DB Hydraulic Fluid
- Mobil Aero HFA
- Shell Aero Fluid 4
- Use anti-corrosion grease
B. Adjustment:
Ball socket (21) on connecting rod (17)
Remove, hook on and loosen, secure ball socket.
Control lever (14) with connecting rod (15) in idle position
Press.
Control mechanism lever (3) to engine in idle
Press. Turn the ball socket (21) to adjust the length of the connecting rod (17) so that it is approx. 1 mm less than the actual distance between the ball head on the transfer lever (16) and the ball head on the connecting rod (19).
Function test
Perform on road.
