Thermostat Housing: Service and Repair

PRECEDING WORK
Viscous fan (20) removed.
Model 140: radiator removed.

OVERVIEW





Model 129: coolant:
Drain from radiator, pour in.
Shield caps (11), (14) and (15):
Remove, install.
Ignition cable 4:
Disconnect from both high voltage distributors (12), plug in.
High voltage distributor (112) with holders (113) and (17), shield cap:
Remove, install.

Installation Note
Cables of TDC sensors (L1/1) and (L1/2):
Clip into holders (13) and (17).

Model 129: ignition cable 4:
Clip into holders (13) and (17).
Oil lines of power steering pump:
Clip into left holder (17).





Coolant hoses (1) and (2):
Detach from thermostat housing cover (3), fit on.
Electrical connector at thermostat housing (4):
Unplug, plug in.
Screws (6) and (7) in thermostat housing cover (3):
Unscrew, screw on.
M8 x 80 screws (5) in thermostat housing (4):
Unscrew, screw on (21 Nm).
Thermostat housing (4) together with housing cover (3):
Remove, install.
O-rings (8), (9) and (10):
Replace.
Coolant:
Pour in.
Cooling system:
Check for leaks.
