[1] B2/5 (Hot film mass air flow sensor): Short circuit to positive [P0103]

Check component B2/5 (Hot film mass air flow sensor).

Test 1: Check actual value B2/5 (Hot film MAF sensor).
Test 2: Test voltage supply of component B2/5 (Hot film MAF sensor).

1 Check actual value B2/5 (Hot film MAF sensor).

Test prerequisite
- Temperature of coolant>80°C
- Engine at idle speed
- AC off

Status of the relevant actual values:
- Temperature of coolant: Communication with ECU required
- Air mass: Communication with ECU required

Specified values
- Air mass: [5.0...13.0] kg/h (If engine speed rises, the air mass increases.)

Question: Are the actual values o.k.?

2 Test voltage supply of component B2/5 (Hot film MAF sensor).

Test prerequisite
- The actual value is not o.k.

Test sequence
- Switch off ignition.
- Detach the socket at the component B2/5 (Hot film MAF sensor).
- (B2/5) 3<-->2 (B2/5)
- [F.2] 98<-->99 [F.3]
- Switch on ignition.

Specified value
- Voltage [11.5...14.5] V

Question: Is the measured value okay?

No
- The measured value is not o.k.
Possible cause and remedy
- Z7/36 (Circuit 87 M2e connector sleeve)
- Cable for voltage supply
**End of test**

Yes
- The measured value is o.k.
Further possible causes of fault
- Unmetered air
- Signal wire
- B2/5 (Hot film MAF sensor)
**End of test**
