Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

System Check - Overall - Electronic Climate Control (ECC)

All the steps in this procedure can be completed without the use of any tools. Detailed diagnostic procedures are referenced in each step.

Complete this check with the temperature outside the car at 60°F (16°C) or higher and with the engine running.

^ Do the tests in the sequence shown.

NOTE:

1. If the vehicle engine was recently running a purge delay of approximately 15 seconds may be encountered before a selected mode is activated. This delay is normal and is designed to prevent fogging of the windshield.

2. In order to prevent windshield frosting during cold start up and cool outside temperatures, the system will delay selected mode of operation until engine is warm (except when defrost is selected).
