Radio, Stereo, and Compact Disc: Description and Operation
RADIOThe Radio receives voltage through four paths: 1) I/P fuse Block Fuse 8D to the Radio ON-OFF Switch; 2) I/P use Block Fuse 9C, which keeps the solid state clock and radio station memory circuits alive when the ignition switch is turned OFF; 3) Radio panel lamp voltage controlled by the panel lamp dimming and 4) A dim signal to dim the radio station numbers when it is dark. This signal comes from fuse Block Fuse 4A when the headlamps or park lamps are turned on.
SUB WOOFER AMPLIFIER (U85 ONLY)
Amplification of the sub woofers in the rear speakers is controlled by the Gain Control Switch. An 8 volt signal is supplied from the amplifier to the Gain Control Switch potentiometer. The potentiometer allows an adjustable 2-6 volt feedback voltage to be applied to the amplifier gain input. This voltage determines the amount of amplification the sub woofers receive.
