Radiator Cooling Fan: Service and Repair
Engine Cooling Fan Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the reservoir hose from the radiator.
2. Disconnect the fan motor electrical connector.
3. If equipped with an air pump:
1. Disconnect the 2 hoses from the air pump outlet pipe (1).
2. Remove the 2 bolts from the air pump outlet pipe (2).
4. Disconnect the 2 fan motor electrical harness clamps from the fan shroud.
5. Remove the 2 fan shroud bolts.
6. Remove the fan shroud and motor assembly.
7. Remove the fan retaining nut.
8. Remove the 2 radiator fan mount bolts.
9. Remove the radiator fan motor.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the radiator fan and the radiator fan motor to the shroud.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).
2. Install one radiator fan nut.
Tighten the radiator fan nut to 6.2 N.m (55 lb in).
3. Install the 2 radiator fan mount bolts.
Tighten the radiator fan bolts to 3.8 N.m (34 lb in).
4. Position the radiator fan and shroud assembly into the vehicle; then install the 2 fan shroud bolts.
Tighten the radiator fan shroud bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
5. Connect the 2 fan motor electrical harness clamps to the fan shroud.
6. Connect the fan motor electrical connector.
7. If equipped with an air pump:
1. Install the 2 bolts to the air pump outlet pipe (2).
Tighten the air pump outlet pipe bolts to 7 N.m (62 lb in).
2. Connect the 2 hoses to the air pump outlet pipe (1).
8. Connect the reservoir hose to the radiator.
