Circuit/System Description

The electronic brake control module (EBCM) will command the ABS indicator ON for 5 seconds after ignition ON or when the EBCM detects a fault and provides a ground for the ABS indicator control circuit.

Circuit/System Verification

Ignition ON, observe the function of ABS indicator, the ABS indicator should turn ON for 5 seconds and turn OFF.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the EBCM.
2. Ignition ON, verify that the ABS indicator is OFF.

• If not the specified condition, test the control circuit terminal 10 for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the instrument panel cluster.

3. Connect a 10 A fused jumper wire between the control circuit terminal 10 and ground. Verify that the ABS indicator is ON.

• If not the specified condition, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the bulb or instrument panel cluster.

4. If all circuits test normal, replace the EBCM.
