P0112
Intake Air Temperature Circuit - Low Input
Intake Air Temperature Sensor, below lower limit

P0113
Intake Air Temperature Circuit - High Input
Intake Air Temperature Sensor, above upper limit

Function
The Intake Air Temperature Sensor measures the temperature of the intake air.

Diagnostic condition
Upper limit exceeded: Intake air temperature higher than 100°C.
Below lower limit: Intake air temperature lower than 45°C and 180 seconds after engine start-up, 30 seconds idling, no load interruption.

Wiring Diagram

Diagnostic procedure.

Check Intake Air Temperature Sensor.
1. Remove Intake Air Temperature Sensor connector.
2. Connect ohmmeter to Intake Air Temperature Sensor connector, pins 1 and 2.

- Specified value: 2.3 - 2.7 kohms at 20°C.

Check wiring from ECM to Intake Air Temperature Sensor for continuity.
1. Remove connector for Intake Air Temperature Sensor.
2. Remove ECM connector.
3. Connect ohmmeter to ECM connector, pin 16 and Intake Air Temperature Sensor connector, pin 1.

- Specified value: 0 - 5 ohms.
- If meter reads infinite resistance, check wiring harness for chafing and pinching damage.

Check wiring between ECM and Intake Air Temperature Sensor for short circuit to ground.
1. Remove connector for Intake Air Temperature Sensor.
2. Remove ECM connector.
3. Connect ohmmeter to ECM connector pin, 16 and to ground.

- Specified value: Infinite resistance.
- If meter reads 0 - 5 ohms, check wiring harness for chafing and pinching damage.

Check wiring from ECM to Intake Air Temperature Sensor for short circuit to B+.
1. Remove connector for Intake Air Temperature Sensor.
2. Remove connector for ECM.
3. Switch ignition on.
4. Connect voltmeter to ECM connector, pin 16 (plus) and to ground (minus).

- Specified value: 0 Volts
- If meter reads battery voltage, check wiring harness for chafing and pinching damage.
