Function
The coil of the fuel injector is supplied on one side with B+ (battery voltage) and on the other with ground via an end-stage of the ECM.
For these faults the connection to ground is monitored.

Diagnostic conditions
A fault is recognized and stored in memory when the engine speed is above 80 1/min and the battery voltage is between 7.5 Volt and 17 Volt.

Diagnostic procedure.





Check fuel injector.
- Remove connector for injector 3.
- Connect ohmmeter to pin 1 and pin 2 at injector.
- Specified value: 15 - 17 ohms.

Check wiring.
- Check wiring from ECM, pin 5 to fuel injector 3, pin 2 for continuity or short circuit to B+ or ground.
