Engine Engagement / Nominal Engine Torque - Short Circuit to Ground.
Function:
In order to protect the transmission (Tiptronic), the advance angle is reduced for a short time when a gear shift is performed at high speeds and high torques.
Diagnostic Conditions:
- Tiptronic vehicle
A fault is recognized and stored if the signal for torque reduction is present for longer than approx. 2.5 seconds.
NOTE: This fault is a control module fault.
The following situations are conceivable:
1. Tiptronic control module faulty.
Tiptronic control module continues to send a signal for torque reduction although the ECM has reduced the torque.
2. ECM faulty.
The ECM does not reduce the torque although the Tiptronic control module requests torque reduction. If no signal that the torque was reduced is sent by the ECM, the request remains in the Tiptronic control module and the time of 2.5 seconds is thus exceeded.
An indication of a faulty control module could be an additionally stored checksum error (control module faulty).
