Cylinder Head Assembly: Specifications

Tightening specification for cylinder-head screws
All O-rings and seals (shaft seals) and micro-encapsulated screws or fastening nuts must be replaced.





First pass 30 Nm (22 ftlbs.)
Second pass Undo all screws again
Third pass 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)
Fourth pass Tighten 70° in sequence
Final pass Tighten 70° in sequence

Intake distributor 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
Install with new M6 x 35 micro-encapsulated hexagon-head bolts and new molded seals on intake pipe support.

Camshaft Bearing Cap Bolts

Exhaust camshaft sprocket bolts 14 Nm (10.5 ftlb.)

Central screw, camshaft adjustment device
(replace)
M12 50 Nm (37 ftlb.) + 110° torque angle

Exhaust Manifold Bolts 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
Use new M8 x 28 hexagon-head bolts.
