53 Torque Converter Clutch, Excessive Power Consumption
The friction losses of the torque converter clutch are monitored. The losses are calculated by means of the CAN signal engine speed and engine torque and by the calculated turbine speed of the torque converter clutch.
Diagnosis conditions
- Ignition on
- No fault speed sensor n2 or n3
- No CAN fault
- No DME fault
- No implausible CAN signal engine speed
- Torque converter clutch slipping
Possible fault cause
- Torque converter clutch not functioning
