Fault code 0024

HBA angle sensor, front compression (for steel springs only)

NOTE:
- This fault can also be caused by a faulty fuse. Given this, it is advisable to check the fuse first before starting to check the wiring and components.
- This fault can also be caused by a mechanical fault, e.g. the transmission linkage or the holder for the sensor is bent or loose.

Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition and light switched on
- Internal HBA (Xenon) control module function test (once ignition and dipped beam headlight are on, a reference run is performed: headlight swivels down and slightly up again)

Possible causes of fault
- HBA (Xenon) control module coded incorrectly
- Signal lead to HBA angle sensor (front compression) faulty
- Power supply to HBA angle sensor faulty
- HBA angle sensor, front compression faulty
- Mechanical faults, linkage or holder loose

Affected pins
- Headlight mounting plate plug: pin 1
- HBA (Xenon) control module plug: pin 3
- Front HBA angle sensor plug: pin 1, pin 2, pin 4, pin 5

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE: The numbering of the pins on the headlight housing plug can be seen as a mirror image of the headlight mounting plate plug shown.
