Fault Code 2086
Fault code 2086Corner-sensitive headlight bulb, left
NOTE: This fault can also be caused by a faulty fuse. Given this, it is advisable to check the fuse first before starting to check the wiring and components.
Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- Internal control module function test
- Corner-sensitive headlight must be coded
- Left corner-sensitive headlight on/off
The output is only monitored when the corner-sensitive headlight is either 0 % or 100 % activated. When terminal 15 is switched on, diagnosis of 100 % brightness of the corner-sensitive headlight is activated (the very short activation time is not perceptible to the human eye); afterwards, the output is monitored cyclically.
Possible causes of fault
- 'Short circuit to B+' Continuous lighting of corner light bulb can only be diagnosed when corner light is switched off.
- 'Short circuit to ground' Failure of corner light bulb can only be diagnosed when corner light is switched on.
- 'Open circuit/short circuit to B+' Continuous lighting of bulb(s) in the event of a 'short circuit to B+', can only be diagnosed when corner light is switched on.
- 'Open circuit/short circuit to B+' No lighting of bulb(s) in the event of a 'disconnection', can only be diagnosed when corner light is switched on.
Affected pins
Plug 'D' on vehicle electrical system control module:
- Pin 1 'output to left corner-sensitive headlight'
Diagnosis/troubleshooting
NOTE:
- Before replacing the control module, the ground connections, power supply and plug connections on the control module must be checked.
- When replacing the vehicle electrical system control module, observe the coding of the control module.
- After the test drive, read out the fault memory with the Porsche System Tester II No. 9588 again. Additional causes of faults that could damage the vehicle electrical system control module should be detected and remedied.
