Knock Sensor, Bank 1 - Below Limit

Diagnosis conditions
- Engine at operating temperature
- Time elapsed after engine start-up > 10 seconds
- Engine speed > 2,000 rpm
- Knock control active (load over 30 %)

Possible fault cause
- Open circuit, crimping fault or loose contact in sensor wiring and/or ground wire
- Short circuit to ground in sensor wire
- Corrosion or loose contact on plug connection
- Knock sensor loose
- Knock sensor faulty
- DME control module faulty

Affected pins
DME control module connector B, pin 99, and knock sensor connector, bank 1, pin 2
DME control module connector B, pin 106, and knock sensor connector, bank 1, pin 1

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE:
- If the fault is stored, the ignition angle is retarded for all cylinders in the range in which 'knock control is active'.
- Knock control adaptation is inactive.
