EVAP Canister Purge Valve Output Stage - Open Circuit

Diagnosis conditions
- Time elapsed after engine start-up greater than 10 seconds
- Battery positive voltage between 10 V and 16 V

Possible fault cause
- Break in wiring in the triggering wire
- Fuse FE11 faulty (fuse carrier in E-box, radiator tank)
- EVAP canister purge valve faulty
- DME control module faulty

Affected terminals
DME control module connector A, pin 64, and EVAP canister purge valve connector, pin 2
Fuse FE11 and EVAP canister purge valve connector, pin 1

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE: The wiring for fuse FE11 and EVAP canister purge valve connector, pin 1, is routed via the KE7 disconnection point, pin 1.

NOTE: If connector A is disconnected from the DME control module and the ignition is or was switched on, the 'DME Control Module TIMEOUT' fault is recorded in many control modules.

NOTE: If control module connector A was disconnected from the DME in the course of troubleshooting or if the voltage supply was interrupted elsewhere (battery, fuse), the throttle adjusting unit must be adapted.
