Positive Crankcase Ventilation Heater Output Stage - Below Limit

Diagnosis conditions
- Battery positive voltage between 10 V and 16 V
- Time elapsed after engine start-up greater than 1 second

Possible fault cause
- Short circuit to ground in triggering wire
- Positive crankcase ventilation heater faulty (short circuit to engine ground)
- DME control module faulty

Affected pin
DME control module connector B, pin 121, and positive crankcase ventilation heater connector, pin 2

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE:
- The wiring diagnosis proceeds in the DME control module even if the positive crankcase ventilation heater is switched off (i.e. at an external air temperature above 3 °C).
- The positive crankcase ventilation heater is activated continuously if a fault occurs when measuring the external air temperature.
