Brake booster system - signal implausible

Diagnosis conditions
- Battery positive voltage between 10 V and 16 V
- 3-minute journey for pressure sensor diagnosis in brake booster
- Pressure sensor diagnosis completed and found to be 'OK' (no fault P1912, P1913 or P1914 stored in the memory)
- Ventilate brake booster by repeatedly actuating the brake pedal (brake empty) and then accelerate steadily in a high fixed gear in the 'M' gate so as to build up a high intake manifold pressure.

Possible fault cause
- Leaks in brake booster system
- Vacuum pump worn out or mechanically faulty
- DME control module faulty

Affected terminals

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE: This diagnoses monitors the build up of a vacuum in the brake booster. When excessive pressure (turbo) has been applied at the intake distributor over a certain period of time, the DME activates the vacuum pump for support. If the pump does not achieve the necessary vacuum, or not in the predetermined amount of time, this fault is stored.

NOTE: The diagnostic conditions can also be 'forced' by the "brake booster system" system adaptation with the 9588 Porsche System Tester II. Tip: If the test does not start, the remedy is most often actuating the brake several times. When the test starts, do not actuate the brakes any more.
