1. Remove front cardan shaft. => 390219 Removing and installing front cardan shaft - section on "Removing"
2. Remove engine carrier. => 103019 Removing and installing engine carrier - section on "Removing"

Line routing on V8 Turbo DFI

1. Place collecting pan underneath the vehicle.

WARNING

Danger of scalding and chemical burns from hot ATF

-> Allow ATF to cool down
-> Wear personal protective gear (goggles, gloves)

2. Unscrew fastening screw securing ATF line to ATF thermostat -2- and remove line.

3. Unscrew ATF line screw connection to engine oil pan and to transmission.

-> Allow ATF to cool down
-> Wear personal protective gear (goggles, gloves)

4. Unscrew fastening screw securing ATF line to transmission -arrow- and remove lines.

5. Remove ATF line -1-. When doing this, the line must be removed individually above and below the oil line -2- from the turbocharger.

Line routing on V8 Turbo DFI

1. Install ATF line -1-. When doing this, the line must be fitted above and below the oil line -2- from the turbocharger.

2. Screw in screws securing ATF line to engine oil pan => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) and to transmission bell housing => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.).
3. Screw in fastening screw -arrow- securing ATF line to ATF thermostat. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
4. Screw in fastening screw securing ATF line to transmission -arrow-. => Tightening torque: 25 Nm (19 ftlb.)

5. Unscrew ATF inspection plug -2- and fill in ATF until a constant discharge is visible at the lifting tube.

6. Screw in ATF inspection plug -2- with a new sealing ring. => Tightening torque: 70 Nm (52 ftlb.)

Subsequent work

1. Install engine carrier. => 103019 Removing and installing engine carrier - section on "Installing"
2. Install front cardan shaft. => 390219 Removing and installing front cardan shaft - section on "Installing"
3. Check and if necessary, top up the ATF. => 370235 Checking and topping up the ATF
4. Fit engine guard. => 108019 Removing and installing engine guard - section on "Installing"
