WM 683037 Disassembling and assembling cup holder

Preliminary work

1. Remove cup holder. -> 683019 Removing and installing cup holder - section on "Removing" Removal and Replacement
2. Remove moulding for dashboard (cup holder). -> 705819 Removing and installing moulding for dashboard - section on "Removing" 705819 Removing and installing trim strip for the instrument panel

Removing flap

Information

The flap can be replaced when the vehicle's cup holder is installed or removed.

1. Open cover -1- in -direction of arrow A-.





Opening cover/linkage lever

2. Open linkage lever -2- in -direction of arrow B-.

Information

Make sure that the torsion spring -3- does not jump out of place.

3. Insert a screwdriver between the linkage lever -1- and flap -2- , unclip it in -direction of arrow A- and remove it from the linkage lever -arrow B-.

Installing flap

Information

To fit the flap correctly, the torsion spring -3- must be hooked in prior to installation.

1. Position flap -2- on the linkage lever -1- ( -arrow A- ) and press it in -direction of arrow B- until it locks with an audible click.

2. By carefully folding over the flap - 2- , check that the torsion spring -3- is secured correctly.
3. Close linkage lever -2- until it engages securely -arrows A-.

4. Close cover -1- until it engages securely -arrow B-.

Subsequent work

1. Install moulding for dashboard (cup holder). -> 705819 Removing and installing moulding for dashboard - section on "Installing" 705819 Removing and installing trim strip for the instrument panel
2. Install cup holder. -> 683019 Removing and installing cup holder - section on "installing" Removal and Replacement
