Information
Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:
- Torx screws: (E.) for external Torx, (T.) for internal Torx.
- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)
Information
- Grease O-rings, hoses and lines in the cooling system with Kluberplus Gel (Part No. 000.043.205.93).
1. Unscrew top external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 50) -1- on the cover from inside the passenger compartment. Leave the screw in the cover and remove it and the cover later.
1.1. Insert for torque wrench 9792 can be used for this.
Coolant regulator housing
2. Pull off coolant hose -2-.
2.1. Pull off spring clamp on the Henn coupling on the coolant hose.
2.2. Pull off the coolant hose and refit the spring clamp immediately.
2.3. Collect emerging coolant in a clean container.
2.4. Check O-ring on Henn coupling and replace it if necessary.
Coolant pump
3. Disconnect coolant pipe.
3.1. Unscrew external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 12) -3- on the coolant regulator housing and crankcase.
4. Unscrew two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 50) -1- on the underbody and remove the coolant regulator cover by pulling it downwards.
4.1. Collect emerging coolant in a clean container.
Coolant regulator housing
5. Remove old profile seal and clean sealing faces.
Installing coolant regulator cover
Information
- Grease O-rings, hoses and lines in the cooling system with Kluberplus Gel (Part No. 000.043.205.93).
1. Install new profile seal -3-.
Coolant regulator
2. Install coolant regulator cover.
2.1. Fit coolant regulator cover with top screw inserted in installation position.
2.2. Fit the two bottom external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 50) -1- and tighten slightly.
2.3. Fit and tighten the top external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 50) -1- from inside the passenger compartment. Insert for torque wrench 9792 can be used for this.
2.4. Tighten the bottom external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 50) -1- on the coolant regulator cover.
=> Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)
Coolant regulator housing
3. Use external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 12) -3- to secure the coolant pipe to the coolant regulator housing and crankcase.
=> Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)
Coolant pump
4. Fit coolant hose on coolant regulator housing.
4.1. Check that the spring clamp is fitted correctly and the coolant hose is engaged correctly.
Subsequent work
1. Fill in coolant. -> 193817 Draining and filling coolant - section on "Filling" Service and Repair.
