1. Remove engine compartment lid.

Removing throttle housing

Information

Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:

- Torx screws: (E.) for external Torx, (T.) for internal Torx.

- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)

1. Remove rubber sleeve -1-.
1.1. Loosen screw-type clamps -2- and remove rubber sleeve.

2. Release and pull off cable plug for potentiometer on the throttle housing and expose the cable.
3. Screw off M6 fastening nut on the rubber mounting.
4. Unscrew four external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 50) and remove the throttle housing.
5. Remove moulded seal on the resonance tube flange and replace it.

Installation

Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:

- Torx screws: (E.) for external Torx, (T.) for internal Torx.

- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)

1. Fit new moulded seal.
2. Position throttle housing and fit with four external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 50).
2.1. Make sure that the holder is fitted correctly on the rubber mounting.
2.2. Tighten fastening screws on throttle housing.
=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
3. Fit and tighten M6 collar nut on the throttle housing holder.
=> Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)
4. Fit cable plug on the throttle housing and clip cable into the sheetmetal holder.
5. Install rubber sleeve -1- for air intake system.
5.1. Fit rubber sleeve on the throttle housing and mass air flow sensor and tighten screw-type clamps -2-.

=> Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ftlb.)

Subsequent work

1. Install engine compartment lid.
