Symptoms

Panorama roof will not open, roof panels reversed, stiff.

Causes and remedial action

The panorama roof cannot be opened or is difficult to open due to narrowed points on the lateral guide rails.

In the event of a complaint, widen the lateral guide rails at the narrowed points using the bending tool.

Reworking lateral guide rails (panorama roof)

1. Open roof panels 2+3 of the panorama roof fully - open using the emergency operation mechanism if necessary.
2. Move front seat all the way forward.

NOTICE

Guide rails widened incorrectly

- Risk of damage to roof assembly

-> Only widen guide rails using the bending tool 9765.
-> Once the bending tool is fully engaged in the guide rail, do not exert any more pressure on the tool.

3. Rework guide rails on the left and right.





Inserting bending tool

3.1. Position bending tool -1- in the cut-out area (nipple) of the guide rail -2- ( -arrow- ).

Information

The guide rail is widened automatically by the oversize of the tool when the bending tool is pressed in.

3.2. Widen guide rail -2- by pressing the bending tool -1- in gently -arrow-.





Final position of bending tool

3.3. Remove bending tool -1-. Press it back into the cut-out area of the guide rail -2- again as a check.
3.4. Remove bending tool -1-.
4. Check function of roof panels 2+3 of the panorama roof by completely opening and closing or raising them.
5. Move front seats back to their original position.
