1. Remove intake-air distributor. => 244619 Removing and installing intake-air distributor - section on "Removing"
2. Remove bar ignition modules. => 282020 Removing and installing DFI bar ignition modules - section on "Removing"

Removing cylinder head cover

1. Remove cylinder head cover.
1.1. Unscrew oil cap.
1.2. Unscrew all fastening screws -3-.
1.3. Lift off cylinder head cover (valve cover) and set it down on a clean surface.

Installing cylinder head cover

1. Before fitting the cylinder head cover, apply sealant 000 043 207 54 (status 02/09) as shown => Applying sealant on upper timing-case cover.

2. Install cylinder head cover (valve cover)

Information

- The seals on the ignition coil slots have a twist lock. These must be inserted into the corresponding cut-out on the cylinder head cover.

2.1. Replace cylinder head cover gasket and shank seals.
2.2. Tighten fastening screws -3- hand-tight.

Information

- The cylinder head cover must be tightened evenly in a clockwise direction.

- The sealing rings of the M6 fastening screws with distance sleeve must be checked for damage and replaced if necessary.

2.3. Tighten fastening screws as shown => Tightening sequence for cylinder head cover ;.=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

2.4. Screw on oil cap.

Subsequent work

1. Install bar ignition modules. => 282020 Removing and installing DFI bar ignition modules - section on "Installing"
2. Install intake-air distributor. => 244619 Removing and installing intake-air distributor - section on "Installing"
