Preliminary work

Removing headliner
Installation position for headliner
1. Unclip cap on the mounting saddle -1- with a screwdriver and open -arrow A-.
Removing mounting saddle and pivot bearing
2. Unscrew fastening screw -2- and remove mounting saddle -3- -arrow B-.
3. Carefully insert a screwdriver between headliner and pivot bearing and release cover -4- -arrow C-.
4. Unscrew fastening screw -5- and remove pivot bearing -6- -arrow D-.
5. Unclip clamps -1- out of the cowl panel frame in the front area.

6. Unclip fixing clip -2- from the bodyshell in the rear area and loosen Velcro fasteners -3-.
Information
Two persons are needed to remove and install the headliner!
7. Carefully take out headliner -1- toward the rear through the tailgate opening.

8. Check clamps -1- and fixing clip -2- of headliner -3- for deformation, replace if necessary.

9. Check Velcro fasteners -4- and replace if necessary.

Information
Two persons are needed to remove and install the headliner!
1. Guide headliner -1- into the vehicle through tailgate opening and position at roof frame.

2. Clip in fixing clip -2- in the bodyshell in the rear area and press in Velcro fasteners -3-.
Fastening the headliner
Information
Pull wire harness for interior light and operator control unit for garage door opener through the openings of the headliner.
3. Clip clamps -1- in the bodyshell in the front area.
4. Press in pivot bearing -6- until it clicks into place -arrow A- and tighten with fastening screw -5-. Tightening torque => Tightening torque: 5 Nm (3.5 ftlb.)+0.5 Nm (+0.5 ftlb.)
Installing mounting saddle and pivot bearing
5. Press in cover for pivot bearing -4- -arrow B-.
6. Position mounting saddle -3- at the top on the roof liner -arrow C- and secure using the fastening screw -2-. Tightening torque => Tightening torque: 2.5 Nm (2 ftlb.)+0.5 Nm (+0.5 ftlb.)
7. Press in cap -1- on mounting saddle -arrow D-.

2. Install interior light. -> 962219 Removing and installing bulb for interior light - section on "Installing" 962255 Replacing bulb for interior light
