Preliminary work
1. Remove the oil filter and collect emerging engine oil in a clean container. -> 170155 Changing engine oil and oil filter - section on "Removing" Removal and Replacement

3. Remove intake-air distributor for cylinder bank 4-6. -> 244619 Removing and installing intake-air distributor - section on "Removing" Service and Repair
4. Remove fuel connection line. -> 249019 Removing and installing fuel connection line - section on "Removing"
5. Remove oil/water heat exchanger. -> 174019 Removing and installing oil/water heat exchanger - section on "Removing" 174019 Removing and installing oil/water heat exchanger
6. Remove oil separator. -> 105519 Removing and installing oil separator - section on "Removing" Removal and Replacement
7. Remove air conditioning compressor and set it aside. Do not drain coolant in this case. For details, see -> 873419 Removing and installing air conditioning compressor - section on "Removing" Service and Repair
8. Remove mass air flow sensor. -> 244519 Removing and installing mass air flow sensor - section on "Removing" Service and Repair

1. Pull off cable plug on oil pressure sensor -1-.

2. Remove screws from the bracket.
2.1. Remove external Torx screws (M6 x 45) -1-.

3. Open the cable clip on the oil-filter housing -1- and lay it aside.

Information
- The bracket for the oil/water heat exchanger must not be removed at an angle or levered off at one side. This can break the aluminium supports in the crankcase.
4. Remove bracket for oil cooler upwards.
5. Replace old O-rings -1- and profile seal -2-.

6. Clean repair area of bracket for oil cooler and crankcase and close off connection points with stoppers.
Installing bracket for oil cooler
Information
Always replace gaskets and O-rings.
- Grease all gaskets (except for the cooling system) with Kluber Syntheso Glep (Part No. 000.043.204.68).
1. Replace stoppers at the connection points and fit new O-rings -1- and profile seal -2-.

2. Install bracket for oil cooler from above.
3. Fit screws and tighten uniformly. => Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)
3.1. Fit external Torx screws (M6 x 45). -1-

4. Secure cable with the cable clip -1-.=> Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ftlb.)

5. Connect cable plug -1- on oil pressure sensor.

Subsequent work
1. Install mass air flow sensor. -> 244519 Removing and installing mass air flow sensor - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
2. Install air conditioning compressor. -> 873419 Removing and installing compressor - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
3. Install oil separator. -> 105519 Removing and installing oil separator - section on "Installing" Removal and Replacement
4. Install oil/water heat exchanger. -> 174019 Removing and installing oil/water heat exchanger - section on "Installing" 174019 Removing and installing oil/water heat exchanger
5. Install fuel connection line. -> 249019 Removing and installing fuel connection line - section on "Installing"
6. Install intake-air distributor for cylinder bank 4-6. -> 244619 Removing and installing intake-air distributor - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
7. Install resonance tube. -> 247419 Removing and installing resonance tube - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
8. Install oil filter and re-fill engine oil, which you drained earlier. -> 170155 Changing engine oil and oil filter - section on "Filling" Removal and Replacement
9. Check the engine-oil level and top up if necessary. -> 170101 Checking engine-oil level - section on "Filling" Procedures
10. Check the power-steering fluid level and top up if necessary. -> 48020150 Checking power-steering fluid level - section on "Filling" Testing and Inspection
11. Check the engine coolant level and top up if necessary. -> 193817 Draining and filling coolant - section on "Filling" Service and Repair
