Information
- The water pump for the V6 can be confused with the water pump for V8 engines.
- The water pump for the V6 must not be installed in V8 engines. Heat damage!
- Do not store the V6 water pump together with V8 water pumps.
- The water pump for the V6 has a colour marking with the inscription V6 on the housing.
- Mark a V6 water pump clearly with a pen if the V6 inscription is missing.

Information
- To ease removal, spray the pulley from the rear side with an anti-corrosion agent.
1. Loosen the three fastening screws on the coolant pump pulley. -Pfeile- Block pulley with a holder Nr.38 or brace Nr.193 if necessary or if the belt drive is removed.

NOTICE
Incorrect handling of pulley
- Risk of damage to pulley
-> The pulley is sensitive to impact. Do not prise off the pulley with a screwdriver.
-> Do not re-use a damaged pulley.
3. Unscrew three loosened fastening screws from pulley => Belt pulley and remove pulley.

4. Unscrew fastening screws => Coolant pump mounting -3- from coolant pump and remove pump. => Removing coolant pump.

5. If pump is stuck, loosen it by tapping gently with a plastic hammer. => Loosening coolant pump with a plastic hammer

Installing coolant pump
Information

1. Clean sealing faces. Fit coolant pump with new seal.

2. Tighten fastening screws.

3. Fit the pulley on the coolant pump. Screw in the three fastening screws by hand.
4. Tighten the three fastening screws on the coolant pump pulley. Block the pulley with a brace Nr.38 if necessary.

Subsequent work
1. Fit drive belt. -> 137819 Removing and installing drive belt 137819 Removing and installing drive belt
2. Install intake manifold. -> 243519 Removing and installing cowl for throttle housing 243519 Removing and installing air box for throttle housing (Y-shaped pipe ahead of throttle valve)
3. Fill and bleed the cooling system according to instructions. -> 193817 Draining and filling in coolant Service and Repair
