Technical values
Preliminary work
1. If a new control unit has to be installed, the values/coding must be read out using the 2nd generation PIWIS Tester 9818 prior to removing the "old" DME control unit. -> 911025 Programming PCM display and operator control unit 911055 Replacing PCM display and operator control unit

Installation position of PCM display and operator control unit
1. Switch off ignition and remove remote control.
Information
Before removing/installing the PCM system, move the gear lever to 4th gear or the PDK selector lever to D.
This protects the gear lever or selector lever from possible damage from the PCM housing.
2. Unscrew the four fastening screws -1- and pull out the PCM display and operator control unit.

The number of plug connections can vary, depending on equipment.
3. Release the securing clip -3- on the central connector -2- for the PCM by lifting up the locking lug -a-.
4. Release the central connector -2- by opening -arrow A- the securing clip -3- and unplug it.

5. Release electric plug connections -4, 5, 6, 7, 8- and unplug them.
Installing PCM display and operator control unit
1. Plug in electric plug connections -4, 5, 6, 7, 8- until they engage securely.

2. Position and insert the central connector -2-. Close the securing clip -3- until it engages securely.

3. Insert the PCM display and operator control unit into the mounting in the dashboard.
3.1. Carefully insert the PCM display and operator control unit as far as it will go.
3.2. Make sure that the lines are not pinched.
4. Secure the PCM display and operator control unit with the four fastening screws -1-. => Tightening torque: 7 Nm (5 ftlb.)

Subsequent work
1. If the control unit was replaced, the "new" control unit must be adapted to suit the vehicle using the 2nd generation PIWIS Tester 9818. -> 911025 Programming PCM display and operator control unit 911055 Replacing PCM display and operator control unit
2. Install the two air vents at the PCM display and operator control unit.-> 855319 Removing and installing centre air vent - section on "Installing" 855319 Removing and installing centre air vent
