Preliminary work

1. Open the bonnet. The secondary-air pump is secured to the valve cover on cylinder bank 1-4 with a bracket.

1. Remove the two M6 aluminium screws from the bracket. -4-

2. The four aluminium screws on the bracket must be removed when removing the secondary-air pump. -3-
3. Loosen spring band clamp on the secondary-air pump and pull off the line.
4. Remove the design cover on secondary-air pumps with a separate cable plug. For details, see -> 108319 Removing and installing engine cover (design cover) Service and Repair. If you only want to move the secondary-air pump aside, the design cover can remain fitted.
5. Pull off cable plug on secondary-air pump if necessary -1-. Remove the secondary-air pump -2-.

1. Move the secondary-air pump into installation position.
1.1. Fit cable plug -1-.

1.2. Fit the design cover. -> 108319 Removing and installing engine cover (design cover) Service and Repair
1.3. Slide on secondary-air line and fit spring band clamp.
1.4. Fit new screws on the bracket -4- and fit the bracket on the valve cover. Replace the connecting screws when separating the bracket and secondary-air pump -3-.

Subsequent work

1. Close the bonnet.
