430955 Replacing reservoir (PDCC)
WM 430955 Replacing reservoir (PDCC)
Removing reservoir (PDCC)
WARNING
Caustic fluids
- Danger of chemical burns
-> Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
-> Wear personal protective gear.
-> Ensure that there is good ventilation.
-> If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
NOTICE
Aggressive fluids
- Risk of damage to components and surfaces
-> Do not spill fluids.
-> In the event of contact, wash the component or surface with water.
-> Replace components that are already damaged.
Overview
1. Empty the reservoir using a suitable suction device. Use only one suction device that is used exclusively for Pentosin, not for any other fluids.
2. Remove hoses -1-.
Pulling off hoses
2.1. Open and pull back clamps using a suitable pair of pliers.
2.2. Place a suitable absorbent cloth underneath and use a drip pan if possible.
NOTICE
Pentosin
- Water hoses can soften and may be damaged irreparably
-> Always keep water hoses away from Pentosin.
-> Water hoses that come into contact with Pentosin must be thoroughly cleaned immediately.
-> Water hoses that have already been contaminated with Pentosin over a long time must be replaced.
Information
- Close off PDCC lines using suitable stoppers if the reservoir is not installed immediately.
- Pay attention to cleanliness!
2.3. Pull off hoses -1- ().
3. Unscrew fastening screws -1- on coolant line.
4. Unscrew fastening screws -2- on bracket -3-.

6. Press the reservoir and holder towards the engine compartment until the fastening screws -2- on the reservoir are accessible.
7. Unscrew fastening screws -2-.
8. Lift out the reservoir and tilt it.
Pulling off connector
9. Release and pull off electric plug connection -1-.
10. Remove reservoir.
Removing sensor
1. Turn fill level sensor -1- on the underside of the reservoir 90° anti-clockwise -arrow-.

2. Remove fill level sensor.
Installing reservoir (PDCC)
Fitting sensor
1. Fit the fill level sensor -1- into the opening on the underside of the reservoir.
Installing sensor
2. Turn the fill level sensor 90° clockwise using slight pressure -arrow-.
Installing reservoir
1. The reservoir is installed in reverse order to removal.
2. Observe tightening torque for fastening screws -> 4301TW Tightening torques 430115 Calibrating the levelling system 4301IN Position of air suspension components 430149 Troubleshooting the Levelling System 4301IN Bleeding and filling the levelling system.
NOTICE
Information
Overfilling the system can cause Pentosin to overflow onto coolant hoses and other components. The engine must be run for approx. 20 seconds prior to the fluid level check. Check the fluid level.
3. Fill the reservoir with Pentosin.
Subsequent work
1. Check the fluid level -> 430501 Checking fluid level (PDCC) 430501 Checking fluid level (PDCC).
