Heater Control Valve: Service and Repair

WM 827419 Removing and installing directional-control valve

Preliminary work

1. Remove wiper linkage. -> 921919 Removing and installing wiper linkage - section on "Removing" Service and Repair
2. Drain coolant. -> 193817 Draining and filling coolant - section on "Draining" Service and Repair

Removing directional-control valve





Installation position

1. Remove directional-control valve.
1.1. Release and pull off electric plug connection.
1.2. Disconnect hose clamp on heat exchanger return connection piece -arrow A-.





Removing directional-control valve

1.3. Release locking mechanism on centre plenum panel.
1.4. Pull off hose -1-.
1.5. Unscrew fastening screw -2- on directional-control valve holder (mounting point not shown).
1.6. Remove directional-control valve -arrow B-.

Installing directional-control valve

1. Install directional-control valve.
1.1. Position directional-control valve -arrow A-.





Installing directional-control valve

1.2. Screw in fastening screw -2- on directional-control valve holder (mounting point not shown).
1.3. Slide hose -1- onto the heat exchanger return connection piece and secure with a hose clamp -arrow B-.
1.4. Slide hose -1- into the connection piece at the centre plenum panel and lock it.
1.5. Plug in electric plug connection until it engages securely.

Subsequent work

1. Install wiper linkage. -> 921919 Removing and installing wiper linkage - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
2. Fill in coolant. -> 193817 Draining and filling coolant - section on "Filling" Service and Repair
3. Bleed the cooling system. -> 190101 Checking the cooling system - section on "Bleeding" Component Tests and General Diagnostics
