Information
When does reversing camera need to be calibrated?
The reversing camera must be re-calibrated in the following situations:
- When removing and installing or replacing the reversing camera.
- When removing and installing or replacing control unit for reversing camera.
- When lowering the chassis.
- During conversion or repair work on the rear lid, upper part of rear lid lock or rear lid release.
Preliminary work
Information
Calibrating the reversing camera balances the tyres, chassis tolerances and installation tolerances of the camera.
- The calibration unit VAS 6350 WE 1368 and a spacing laser VAS 6350/2 WE 1369 are needed for calibration.
- During calibration, the control unit for the reversing camera calculates the vehicle-specific adjustment values (e.g. image rectification) for the camera image.
- After the actual calibration process, which takes approx. 2 minutes, the rectified image can be seen on the vehicle display.

Information
Calibration must only be performed on level ground.
On vehicles with air suspension, switch on ignition, close the doors and set the air suspension to Comfort.
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and set up the calibration unit VAS 6350 WE 1368 behind the vehicle in accordance with the operating instructions for VAS 6350.
Setup overview (shown on the Panamera)
2. Fit the wheel nut supports and reflectors on the vehicle in accordance with the operating instructions for VAS 6350. The reflectors must be hanging freely.
Fitting reflectors
Reflector must be hanging freely
3. Align the work surface with the middle of the vehicle, adjust the line laser to suit the calibration plate in accordance with the operating instructions for VAS 6350.

Setup overview
1. The following tools are required:
1.1. Calibration unit VAS 6350 WE 1368
1.2. Spacing laser VAS 6350/2 WE 1369
NOTICE
Voltage drop
- Risk of irreparable damage to control unit
- Risk of damage to control unit
- Fault entries in the control unit
- Coding in the control unit is aborted
- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming
-> Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.
-> Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.
-> Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least => Nominal value: 40 A to the vehicle battery.
Information
The PIWIS Tester II 9818 instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.
The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear in PIWIS Tester II 9818.
2. Connect the Porsche System Tester to the vehicle and start the System Tester. Switch on ignition and press F12 to continue.
3. Select vehicle type.
4. Select the Reversing camera control unit in the overview.
5. Select Calibrate reversing camera.
6. Observe the warnings on the Tester.
7. Height of camera from floor - measure value -Z-. Note specification on the Tester.
Measuring height of camera - value Z (shown on the Panamera)
8. Align the line laser.
Aligning line laser
8.1. The surface of the plate must be clean and there must be no objects on it.
8.2. Position the distance measuring unit at the stop bracket of the calibration plate at the left and right and measure the distance -X1- and -X2- to the reflectors.
8.2.1. The distance should be approx. 1,400 mm.
8.2.2. The difference between the right and left side must be < 1 mm.
8.3. Enter the distance -X1- and -X2-.
8.3.1. If the difference between -X1- and -X2- is more than 1 mm, the values will be rejected.
9. Enter the height -K- (calibration plate height).
10. Start the calibration process. The vehicle must not be moved.
11. The Tester confirms that calibration is complete.
12. Check the function and image quality of the reversing camera.
13. Read out fault memory.
