Preliminary work

1. Remove lower part of trim panel at the rear. -> 709219 Removing and installing trim panel for tailgate - section on "Removing" Service and Repair

Removing upper part of rear lid lock

WARNING

Electrically moved components

- Danger of limbs being trapped or severed

-> Switch off electric power to drive motor.
-> Make sure it does not switch on again.
-> Check that there is no electric charge.

NOTICE

Voltage peaks

- Risk of damage to load or to the control unit

-> Switch off ignition and remove remote control before disconnecting or removing load.





Installation position of upper part of lid lock

1. Unscrew fastening screws for upper part of rear lid lock -1-.

2. Remove upper part of lid lock from the rear lid.
3. Release and pull off electric plug connection -a-.

Installing upper part of rear lid lock

1. The upper part of the rear lid lock is installed in reverse order to removal.
2. Tighten fastening screws for upper part of lid lock to the specified tightening torque => Tightening torque: 12 Nm (9 ftlb.).

Subsequent work

1. Install lower part of trim panel at the rear. -> 709219 Removing and installing trim panel for tailgate - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
