Preliminary work

1. Remove moulding for rear door. -> 66331903 Moulding for rear door - section on "Removing" 66331903 Removing and installing trim strip for rear door
2. Remove rear window channel seal. -> 646819 Removing and installing rear window channel seal - section on "Removing"

Removing cover for rear door at the B-pillar

Information

Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well. These must be carried out as a mirror image of the steps shown.

1. Roll the door window down fully.
2. Pull off the window guide in the B-pillar area. -> 644655 Replacing rear window guide - section on "Replacing" 644655 Replacing rear window guide
3. Unscrew three fastening screws -2- on the cover for the rear door at the B-pillar.

Information

The window guide is bonded close to the B-pillar at the front. The entire rear window guide must be replaced whenever the cover for the rear door at the B-pillar is removed. -> 644655 Replacing rear window guide 644655 Replacing rear window guide

4. Pull bonded window guide at the front -3- off the B-pillar cover.

5. Carefully lift the cover up and remove it -A-.

Removing cover for rear door at the C-pillar

Information

4. Carefully lift the cover up and remove it.

Installing covers for rear door

The rear covers are installed in reverse order to removal.

Subsequent work

1. Install rear window channel seal. -> 646819 Removing and installing rear window channel seal - section on "Installing"
2. Install moulding for rear door. -> 66331903 Moulding for rear door - section on "Installing" 66331903 Removing and installing trim strip for rear door
