Preliminary work

1. If a new control unit has to be installed, the values and coding must be read out using PIWIS Tester II 9818 prior to removing the "old" control unit for memory seat adjustment. -> 720055 Replacing control unit for memory seat adjustment.

Information

Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well. These must be carried out as a mirror image of the steps shown.





Installation position of control unit for memory seat adjustment

1. Release fastening point -1- for wire harness.

2. Release electric plug connection -2- at the front and rear -a- and pull it off -A-.
3. Release electric plug connection -3- using a screwdriver -b- and pull it off -B-.
4. Release electric plug connection -4- using a screwdriver -c- , open the clip -C- and pull off connector -D-.

5. Remove control unit for memory seat adjustment -5- ( -E- ).

Information

1. Slide control unit for memory seat adjustment -1- into the brackets -2- ( -A- ).

2. Plug in two electric plug connections -3- ( -B- ) until the connectors engage securely.
3. Plug in electric plug connection -4- ( -C- ) and lock the securing clip -D-.

4. Secure the wire harness with a tie-wrap -5-.

Subsequent work

1. Install the front seat. -> 720119 Removing and installing front seat - section on "Installing" 720119 Removing and installing front seat
2. If the control unit was replaced, the control unit must be adapted to the vehicle using PIWIS Tester II 9818. -> 720055 Replacing control unit for memory seat adjustment.
