1. Remove design cover. -> 108319 Removing and installing engine cover (design cover)

Removing

Removing guide for oil dipstick

Information

- Measure the oil level before removing any parts and draw a diagram of the oil level on the oil dipstick as a reference.

1. Screw off fastening nuts -arrows- on sheetmetal holder. Press sheetmetal holder aside.

2. Unscrew fastening screw -1- on the guide.

3. Remove connector for crankshaft pulse sender on the guide -arrow-.

4. Carefully pull the guide and oil dipstick out of the cylinder block. Turn it back and forth as required.
5. Check that the sealing ring is on the guide. Pull the sealing ring out of the bore if necessary using an angled piece of wire.

Installing

Information

- The sealing ring on the guide must be replaced.

1. Replace sealing ring, apply a little grease to the ring and push it as far as it will go onto the guide -arrow-. Remove the oil dipstick from the guide to facilitate installation.

- Illuminate the installation position well for fitting the guide.

2. Insert the guide into the bore on the cylinder block and align it. Fit and tighten fastening screw -1- for the guide. => Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)

3. Check the oil level using the oil dipstick and compare it with the diagram you drew (serves as a reference for checking that the guide was fitted correctly in the cylinder block).
4. Fit connector for crankshaft pulse sender on the guide.

5. Move sheetmetal holder into installation position and tighten it -arrows-. => Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)

Subsequent work

1. Fit design cover. -> 108319 Removing and installing engine cover (design cover)
