Removing and installing complete auxiliary heating

Preliminary work

1. Disconnect the battery -> 2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery 2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
2. Remove the left front wheel -> 440519 Removing and installing wheel - section on "Removing" Removal and Replacement.
3. Remove front left wheel housing liner -> 505619 Removing and installing front wheel housing liner - section on "Removing" Service and Repair.

Before disconnecting the fuel line, it is essential to observe the safety instructions in -> 1001AW The most important working regulations and warning information - Group 20 - Fuel supply, control! Preliminary work, Warning Testing and Inspection

1. Close off coolant hoses with hose clamps 3094, loosen spring band clamps -1- on coolant lines using assembly pliers Nr.72-1 and pull coolant hoses off the coolant pipes.

2. Loosen spring band clamps -2- on the fuel line and close off the fuel line.
3. Close off coolant hoses with hose clamps 3094, loosen spring band clamps -1- on coolant lines using assembly pliers Nr.72-1 and pull coolant hoses off the coolant pipes.

4. Loosen clamp -2- on the exhaust pipe and remove pipe by pulling it downwards.
5. Remove fastening screws -1- and fastening nuts -2- and loosen holders for coolant pipes and exhaust pipe.

6. Release and disconnect connectors -1, 2 and 3- for auxiliary heating.

7. Loosen fastening screws -1- on auxiliary heater holder.

8. Unhook auxiliary heater holder by lifting it up -arrow- and carefully remove the auxiliary heater.

Installing complete auxiliary heating

1. Installation is performed in reverse order.

=> Tightening torque: +8 Nm (+6 ftlb.)+/-1 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.) => Tightening torque: +6 Nm (+4.5 ftlb.) => Tightening torque: +6 Nm (+4.5 ftlb.)

Subsequent work

1. Connect the battery -> 2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery 2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
2. Install front left wheel housing liner -> 505619 Removing and installing front wheel housing liner - section on "Installing" Service and Repair.
3. Fit the left front wheel -> 440519 Removing and installing wheel - section on "Installing" Removal and Replacement.
4. Bleed the cooling system -> 193817 Draining and filling coolant (includes bleeding) Service and Repair.
