Technical values
Preliminary work
1. If a new control unit has to be installed, the values/coding must be read out using the 2nd generation PIWIS Tester 9818 prior to removing the "old" control unit. -> 945755 Replacing control unit for gas discharge 945755 Replacing control unit for gas discharge.

NOTICE
Voltage drop
- Risk of irreparable damage to control unit
- Risk of damage to control unit
- Fault entries in the control unit
- Coding in the control unit is aborted
- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming
-> Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.
-> Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.
-> Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least => Nominal value: 40 A to the vehicle battery.
Information
Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well. These must be carried out as a mirror image of the steps shown.

1. Unscrew the two fastening screws -2-.

2. Loosen the fastening screw -1- and open the bracket -arrow-.
3. Remove control unit for gas-discharge headlight.

Information

1. Fit the control unit -arrow-. Make sure it is seated securely.

2. Swivel the bracket in -arrow- and secure with the three fastening screws -1 and 2-.

2. If the control unit was replaced, the "new" control unit must be adapted to suit the vehicle using the 2nd generation PIWIS Tester 9818. -> 945755 Replacing control unit for gas discharge 945755 Replacing control unit for gas discharge.
