Removing front connecting link

WARNING

Wheel bearing housing raised incorrectly

- Risk of squashing
- Risk of damage to components

-> Wear personal protective gear.
-> Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).

1. Only for 19-inch brake system:
Remove air guide. -> 407719 Removing and installing front stabiliser (PDCC) - section on "Removing" 407719 Removing and installing front anti-roll bar (PDCC)
2. Raise the vehicle.
3. Loosen the bottom fastening screw -2- on the connecting link -5-.

4. Raise the lower axle support -3- as far as required using a suitable jack -4- so that the upper fastening screw -1- on the connecting link can be loosened and removed easily.
5. Remove the connecting link -5-.

Installing front connecting link

Information

- All screws and bolts on the axle must be tightened in vehicle position. Vehicle position means: vehicle resting on its wheels, or the wheel suspension is lifted with a universal jack. -Dimension X- from lower edge of wing to centre of axle corresponds to vehicle position. For the current height values, please refer to the adjustment values for suspension alignment -> 4495TW Adjustment values for suspension alignment 4495TW Adjustment values for suspension alignment.





Dimension -X-: lower edge of wing to centre of axle (shown as an example)

- Visually inspect all parts.

- Replace self-locking nuts.

- Replace all expansion screws (screws fitted using torque angle tightening procedure).

- Use correct tightening torques and torque angle. -> 4X00IN Tightening torques for front axle 4X00IN Tightening torques for front axle

1. Raise the lower axle support -3- as far as required using a suitable jack -4- so that the upper fastening screw -1- on the connecting link can be fitted easily.

2. Fit the bottom fastening screw -2- for the connecting link -5- on the anti-roll bar.
3. Fit the fastening screws for the connecting link. -> 4X00IN Tightening torques for front axle 4X00IN Tightening torques for front axle
4. 19-inch wheels only:
